This session is designed to guide international STEM professionals (foreign students and experienced immigrants) on effectively leveraging their foreign qualifications and experience to build successful careers in the U.S. Participants will explore strategies for credential recognition, resume tailoring to U.S. commonly expected terminology, understanding U.S. hiring practices and cultural expectations. The course will highlight the importance of networking outside of culture/community/comfort-zone and effective job-search techniques tailored to STEM careers in the U.S. Additionally, participants will gain actionable advice for networking, interview preparation, and identifying resources like credential evaluations and professional certifications. Through real world examples, participants will gain confidence and clarity in navigating the U.S. STEM job market.
